William grew up in the rural edges of Pierce County and has always enjoyed spending time in nature, out in the country. When he first met with Compass Career Solutions, he was excited about finding a home, but also weary. He thought he would have to move from his rural neighborhood into the city, away from the environment where he felt most comfortable.

 

Compass staff in Olympia became aware of his concern and put in the time and effort to find William an apartment that was a good fit for him. He now has an apartment next to a park where he can enjoy spending time in nature, but is also a short drive from a grocery store and his doctor’s office.

 

William says, “I’m glad that Compass came along. Joe and Ashley (my Supported Housing Case Managers) were very helpful. I wouldn’t have a place to live on my own without them.”
