However, without formal work experience, she wanted a way to build up her experience and gain a competitive edge when applying for jobs. To help her achieve that goal, Erica connected Amber to a volunteer position with Vancouver Farmers' Market.

Justin came to Compass excited to find his first job.  For several months he worked with his Employment Specialist, Angela, to get him ready for his new job. They worked on preparing for the interview and how to talk to employers. Then they went out into the community to practice the skills that Justin had learned.

Tara-Ann and her fiancé had been homeless for three years. She became homeless because of a shooting at her apartment complex. Unfortunately she couldn’t work because her health was very poor, and she didn’t have any support to help her find resources to get back on her feet.

I was taking care of my mom for a long time and spent most days with her but I was exhausted and going through a lot of mental health struggles. I ended up going to the hospital and was there for almost 7 months, not knowing where I would end up.
